Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using any part of the Yourlene platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform. These Terms are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, in which case the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence also apply.

2. Platform services

Yourlene provides informational content, financial modelling tools, community features, and private document management tools. The Platform is designed for educational and organisational purposes only. Nothing on the Platform constitutes financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. Always consult qualified and regulated professionals (FCA-authorised, SRA-regulated, STEP-accredited or equivalent) before making financial or legal decisions.

3. Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
• One account per person. Corporate accounts are not currently supported.

4. Payments and refunds

Certain features of the Platform require a one-time purchase or a recurring subscription, processed via Stripe. All prices are inclusive of applicable VAT where required. One-time purchases grant lifetime access to the purchased tool suite for your account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Due to the digital nature of these products, refunds are not available once access has been granted, except where required by applicable consumer law (e.g. EU Consumer Rights Directive 14-day cooling-off period for digital content, provided you have not started downloading or streaming the content).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law.
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information in the Community Hub.
• Attempt to circumvent access controls, reverse-engineer, or scrape the Platform.
• Share your account credentials with others.
• Use the Platform to facilitate money laundering, tax evasion, or other financial crimes.

6. Expert directory

Experts listed in the Community Hub directory are independent professionals. Yourlene manually reviews submitted credentials before granting a Verified Expert badge, but does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any expert's qualifications. Yourlene is not liable for any advice given by listed experts, and the listing fee does not constitute endorsement or recommendation.

7. Financial disclaimer

All financial calculators, models, projections, and educational content on the Platform are provided for illustrative purposes only. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Tax laws, allowances, and rates change — verify all figures with a qualified professional before making any financial decision. Yourlene is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and does not provide regulated financial advice.

8. Intellectual property

All Platform content, branding, design, and software are the property of Yourlene or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission. Content you upload to your private vault remains your property. You grant Yourlene a limited licence to store and display your vault content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Yourlene shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or financial losses resulting from reliance on Platform content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your access to premium features ceases immediately. Your vault data is retained for 30 days following termination and then permanently deleted.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email to registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
